ABOUT

Geoffrey B. Brookshire, LCSW is a Child & Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience on the front lines of our mental health and education systems. He has witnessed first-hand the complex psychological and developmental challenges our children are facing, and he is a voice for students who feel their intelligence has been undervalued and overlooked.

Geoffrey grew up in the Carolinas and calls the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina home. His professional journey started in Wilderness Therapy where he learned how to communicate with and advocate for at-risk youth.  Throughout his career in Child Protective Services, Community Mental Health, and Public Education, Geoffrey has been a devoted guide and champion for children facing adverse life circumstances.

CREDENTIALS

Geoffrey’s credentials include a Clinical License in Social Work (LCSW), a Master of Science in Social Work degree (MSSW) from the University of Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree (BS) from Presbyterian College. 

He offers Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Treatment, and Creative Arts Counseling to individuals seeking greater emotional balance and positive focus in their lives. 

Geoffrey incorporates music, art, and purposeful movement into therapeutic sessions to encourage clients to explore all aspects of their intelligence. 

Backed by decades of research and hands-on experience, Geoffrey stands at the forefront of a powerful transformation within our mental health and education systems; he was recently awarded a U.S. Patent for his Student Desk for Brain-Based Movement, also known as EDGY. 

Geoffrey is actively pursuing creative business and community partnerships to amplify EDGY’s impact.
